Man Hospitalized in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 1 in Soquel

 
SOQUEL, CA (December 2, 2022) — A man was injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 1 near Park Avenue Wednesday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 6:48 p.m. on Highway 1. Under unclear circumstances, a 61-year-old Capitola woman struck a 31-year-old Watsonville man walking in the northbound lanes in the direction of traffic.
 
The woman stopped immediately and waited for authorities. Soon after, First Responders arrived and brought the man to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officers have yet to confirm what led to the accident. However, they are investigating the factors, including DUI. If any witnesses would like to help the CHP, please call the department.
