BARRIO LOGAN, CA (December 13, 2024) — A man sustained a head injury in a pedestrian accident on 28th Street and Main Street.
The San Diego Police Department responded to a report around 5:25 a.m. Thursday. Upon arriving, officers learned that a 45-year-old man in a crosswalk was hit by a 2014 Ford Escape while turning left.
The driver, a 63-year-old, stopped and waited for the authorities. Moments later, emergency personnel brought the victim to a hospital with a skull fracture. Fortunately, the injury was deemed non-life threatening.
Following the incident, authorities investigated the details and ruled out alcohol as a possible factor in the accident. However, if anyone would like to help with this case, call the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division.
To avoid a pedestrian accident, slow down at intersections, crosswalks, neighborhoods and parking lots. These areas are known for their pedestrian presence. Pedestrians should also make eye contact with drivers before crossing and never assume drivers are aware of them.
