Bicycle Struck by Vehicle in Accident at Carrillo Street
SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 3, 2021) – A man suffered injuries in a bicycle accident at Carrillo Street on January 21.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Chino Street at approximately 6:50 PM.
Based on a report, the bicyclist was crossing Carrillo at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling up the hill struck him.
As a result, the victim sustained injuries in the incident. Santa Barbara Police and Fire responded to the scene and found the victim down in the roadway. He was alert and able to talk when they found him. Subsequently, they transported him to Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Police said the vehicle was running at speeds between 25 and 35 miles per hour which were within the speed limit for that area. In addition, they did not suspect alcohol to be a factor in this bicycle accident at Carrillo Street.
