Man Hurt in 2-Car Crash on 8 Freeway
EL CAJON, CA (December 21, 2021) — A man suffered major injuries in a two-car accident on the 8 Freeway near Mollison Avenue on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 5:45 p.m. After running out of fuel, a 22-year-old man’s gold Buick came to a complete stop on the 8 East Freeway.
Subsequently, the man exited his vehicle and stood next to the hood when a 32-year-old woman in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra struck the Buick.
Shortly after, paramedics reached the scene and brought the Buick driver to Sharp Memorial Hospital with major injuries. Meanwhile, the unidentified woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators. At this time, officers have ruled out DUI as a leading factor. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
To minimize danger on the road, always verify that your fuel tank has gas. Failing to do so can lead to disasters, such as a breakdown, car accidents and major injuries.
