Union Pacific Freight Train Accident Reported near Avenue J and Sierra Highway in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (January 3, 2022) – A man was hospitalized following a train accident near Avenue J and Sierra Highway, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on January 1 at about 3:18 p.m. The vehicle reportedly crashed through a fence and got stuck on train tracks.
 
Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department rushed to the scene and rescued the man inside the vehicle. However, the Union Pacific freight train could not stop in time and hit the vehicle.
 
As per reports, the man got out in time and did not sustain injuries in the collision. Investigators also confirmed that the man suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.
 
Paramedics later transported the man to a hospital for treatment of his medical emergency.
