DEL MAR, CA (December 8, 2021) — A man was hit and killed by a train on 12th Street near Stratford Court on Monday.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a man was standing near the west end of 12th Street near the train track when an oncoming southbound passenger train struck him.
 
As a result of the incident, the unidentified victim died at the scene. His name has not been confirmed as of early Monday evening.
 
At this time, authorities have not released the details of the incident. However, anyone with more information on this fatal accident should call the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Transit Enforcement Unit.
