ENCINITAS, CA (June 28, 2022) – A man was hit and killed by a car at Enterprise Bank parking lot in Encinitas on Friday afternoon, June 24.
 
The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. at 277 North El Camino Real. According to the San Diego Sheriff’s deputies, a 61-year-old woman was driving in the bank parking lot when her vehicle lost control and went through a parking space and a row of shrubs.
 
It then struck the 44-year-old man.
 
Encinitas Fire Department personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. They did not release the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
 
Deputies said it is still unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
