Man Killed, Driver Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Jackson Road near Sunrise Boulevard

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (December 20, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian crash on Jackson Road at about 5:20 a.m. on Monday, December 19.
 
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the incident happened eastbound on Jackson Road near Sunrise Boulevard.
 
CHP East Sacramento spokesman Officer Trenton Senter said the pedestrian walked into the eastbound lane of Jackson Road. He went directly in front of a white Toyota Tacoma. The pickup hit him as a result, Senter said.
 
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the pedestrian’s identity after notification of his family.
 
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma had minor injuries. He stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Officials do not believe speed, alcohol, or drugs are factors in the fatal incident.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
