Man Struck and Killed by Car in Pedestrian Accident on State Street near Ramona Expressway

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (February 8, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on North State Street near Ramona Expressway on Monday, January 18.
 
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that the incident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. Monday.
 
According to Sgt. Mike Heath, the driver of a Toyota sedan traveled northbound on State Street. Then he came upon the victim who lay in the middle of the roadway. He said the motorist stepped on the brake. However, the car could not stop on time and it run over the man.
 
The driver instantly pulled over and dialed 911. County fire paramedics arrived at the location within a few minutes and administered medical aid. Yet, the victim died at the scene.
 
Officials have not immediately released the identity of the deceased.
 
Authorities closed State between the expressway and Community College Drive for seven hours during the initial investigation.
