Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on 15 Freeway in Corona Involves Tractor-Trailer

 
CORONA, CA (September 15, 2021) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 15 Freeway in Corona early Tuesday morning.
 
The crash happened around 3:55 a.m. on September 14, just south of El Cerrito Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving an Acura SUV when he collided into the rear of a big rig.
 
After the crash, the man immediately stopped in the slow lane. The driver of the big rig also pulled to the shoulder of the freeway as the victim got out of his vehicle, apparently to survey the damage.
 
After he exited his car, an unknown tractor-trailer pulling two gravel trailers struck him. The driver of the trailer did not stop.
 
The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene by Corona Fire Department paramedics.
 
The driver of the first big rig was not hurt.
 
Officers searched the area for the hit-and-run rig but could not locate it. They urged anyone with information to call the Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.
