Fatal Head-On Car Collision on Highway 101 in Redwood Valley

 
REDWOOD VALLEY, CA (July 1, 2022) — A man died, and a woman was injured in a head-on crash on Highway 101 near West Road on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 6:26 p.m. For unclear reasons, a man from Burbank operating a Toyota Prius northbound veered into the center median. Subsequently, the Toyota drove into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.
 
As a result of the crash, the Toyota Prius driver suffered fatal injuries. Officers have yet to release his name.
 
As for the Jeep occupants, the 33-year-old Houston, Texas, man driving the car reported no injuries. However, his 65-year-old female passenger suffered major wounds and sought care at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
