Driver Anthony James Killed in Possible DUI Crash with Viniesha Horsley in South Los Angeles

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (September 11, 2024) — Anthony James died in a suspected DUI car accident on Crenshaw Boulevard near 135th Street on August 31.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the two-vehicle crash happened around 4:00 a.m. 23-year-old Viniesha Horsley slammed into James’ car reversing out of a driveway.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded and pronounced the driver of the hit car – James – deceased at the scene.
 
Reports did not confirm if Horsley, who was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition, was under the influence. However, authorities are looking into impairment as a possible explanation.
 
Horsley was booked for vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. But instead of being arraigned, she was released and the case was sent back to law enforcement for further investigation.
