Man Killed in Single-Car Crash on Highway 101 in Ventura

 
VENTURA, CA (December 14, 2021) — A man died in a solo-car accident on Highway 101 near Copland Drive on Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened around 2:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 37-year-old man drove his 2017 Porsche off the highway, north of Telephone Road. Subsequently, the Porsche struck several trees down an embankment and caught fire.
 
Soon after, CHP officers responded to find the car swallowed up by flames as firefighters found the deceased driver near the scene after possibly being thrown from the vehicle.
 
At this time, officers have no information on what led to the accident. However, anyone who has information on the cause and the events should contact the CHP’s Ventura office at 805-662-2640.
