MANTECA, CA (March 28, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian crash on Highway 99 near Austin Road, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 2:06 a.m. For unknown reasons, a man was walking on the right southbound lane of the highway. Subsequently, a driver of an unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian.
