MERCED, CA (February 7, 2025) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Yosemite Parkway at Highway 99 Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a male pedestrian walking near the on-ramp to Highway 99 was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
 
The victim suffered major injuries and passed away moments later.
 
Following the crash, the driver waited for the authorities and cooperated with the investigation. However, authorities did not confirm the leading cause. If anyone has more information and can help traffic investigators, contact the CHP.
