Man Killed in Santa Cruz Pedestrian Crash on Ocean Street

 
SANTA CRUZ, CA (January 6, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Ocean Street near Soquel Avenue on Tuesday night.
 
According to reports, the pedestrian accident happened around 6:39 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a dark-colored sedan struck a male pedestrian in the 500 block of Ocean Street.
 
Soon after, paramedics with the Santa Cruz Fire Department reached the scene and performed life-saving efforts. However, despite these attempts, the man died at the scene.
 
Following the accident, officers interviewed the driver who showed no signs of impairment and who cooperated with the police.
