Fatal Pedestrian Accident Reported on 5th Street in Pacific Grove

 
PACIFIC GROVE, CA (September 21, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on 5th Street on September 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Pine Avenue at approximately 7:00 AM.
 
Based on an initial report, the man was standing in the roadway at the time of the crash. At the same time, a Ford F-250 was traveling near the intersection. Due to unknown reasons, the pickup came and struck the pedestrian.
 
As a result, a release from the Long Beach Police Department said that paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. However, he later died due to severe injuries. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with police officers.
 
At this point, Police don’t consider speed, alcohol, or distracted driving as factors in the accident. Also, an investigation is still ongoing.
