Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Brundage Lane in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 8, 2023) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Brundage Lane near V Street.
 
According to Bakersfield Police, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a man in the 400 block of Brundage Lane. However, the driver left the scene, leaving the victim lying on the roadway with major injuries.
 
Shortly after, Bakersfield Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene to try and save the pedestrian’s life; however, the individual died moments later.
 
Investigators need the public’s help with locating the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run. It is unclear if drugs, alcohol or speed played a factor in the accident, but an investigation should confirm the details.
 
The Kern County coroner’s office will release the victim’s name once they inform family members.
