Man Killed, Semi-Truck Crashes Into Driver at 5 Freeway in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 9, 2022) — A man died after a big rig crashed into a car at the 5 Freeway and Nees Avenue intersection.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle accident happened around noon time Thursday. For unknown reasons, a 38-year-old man heading westbound in a Honda on Nees Avenue struck a Hyundai, driven by a 17-year-old from Los Angeles.
 
Subsequently, a big rig broadsided the Honda, causing it to roll down an embankment.
 
Responding paramedics and officers arrived and found the teen Hyundai driver and the 30-year-old driver of the big rig with no injuries. However, the Honda driver suffered fatal wounds. Authorities have yet to release the individual’s name.
 
At this time, investigators have not confirmed the liabilities and details of the crash. However, an investigation should reveal more information.
