Man Killed in Bicycle Crash with Car on Golden State Boulevard in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (January 13, 2023) — A man died in a bicycle accident with a car on Golden State Boulevard near Swift Avenue.
 
According to Fresno police, the fatal bicycle crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a driver struck a man riding a bike while driving northbound on Golden State Boulevard. However, the driver did not immediately stop but returned home and noticed considerable damage to his vehicle.
 
The driver subsequently returned to the scene and contacted police about possibly hitting a person. Emergency personnel responded and attempted life-saving measures on the victim, but the cyclist passed away.
 
The victim’s identity is unavailable at this time, but authorities described him as a person in his 30s or 40s.
 
As for the driver, he is cooperating with the police during the investigation. Authorities do not believe DUI played a factor.
