Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Accident on Atherton Street in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 4, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Atherton Street on December 21.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Montair Avenue around 10:15 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was crossing northbound on Atherton Street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a westbound silver sedan came and struck him. After an assessment, police said he crossed the street outside a designated crosswalk.
 
As a result, the man suffered critical injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital where he later died.
