Man Fatally Struck in a Hit-and-Run Accident on Victory Boulevard and Kester Avenue

 
VAN NUYS, CA (April 4, 2022) — A man died a day after being struck in a hit-and-run accident on Victory Boulevard on Thursday, March 31.
 
Los Angeles police officers responded at about 10:15 p.m. to the area of Victory Boulevard and Kester Avenue, near Van Nuys High School. Reports said residents saw a vehicle moving eastbound on Victory Boulevard hit a man and then flee the scene.
 
The witnesses tried to help the man. However, he refused aid and walked away through an alley before the arrival of the police.
 
Officers received calls again to the area at around 6:45 a.m. on Friday. They received reports about a man found not breathing in front of an apartment building near Victory and Noble. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead.
 
His identity was not yet released. However, police said he was 50 to 55 years old.
 
His injuries were consistent with having been struck by a vehicle. Additionally, he also matched the description of the victim in the collision the previous night.
 
The city of Los Angeles offers a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that can help authorities solve the fatal hit-and-run. Police urge anyone with information on the case to call 877-LAPD-247.
