Pedestrian Accident on Broadway Street Involving Three Vehicles Leaves Victim in Critical Condition

 
EUREKA, CA (October 12, 2021) – A man suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident on Broadway Street in Eureka Friday evening.
 
The accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. on October 8, near Bayshore Mall. According to the Eureka Police Department, the pedestrian wearing dark clothing was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk. He suddenly darted into the roadway when a vehicle struck him. Moments later, a second vehicle also him, and then was dragged by a third vehicle.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered critical injuries.
 
Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance responded and took the pedestrian to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition.
 
Police said the pedestrian appears to be a white man, possibly in his 30s, with reddish brown facial hair and no obvious tattoos.
 
All three drivers remained at the scene and were evaluated for DUI. Impairment did not appear to be a factor, but the accident is still under investigation.
