Big Rig Accident on Shaw Avenue in Biola Area Leaves Driver in Critical Condition

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (January 17, 2022) – A man was critically injured in a big rig accident on Shaw Avenue in the Biola area of Fresno County on Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. on January 14. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the 18-wheeler adjusted for driving in the fog. He was going slower than the speed limit and had his headlights on. However, the male driver of a Cadillac entered the opposing eastbound lane in order to pass another vehicle within the fog.
 
Fog during that time was about a 200-fott or less visibility. The driver of the Cadillac did not see the approaching big rig. The vehicles collided, causing severe damage on the Cadillac.
 
Paramedics transported the driver of the Cadillac to a hospital in critical condition.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
