OAKLAND, CA (October 5, 2021) – A man suffered critical injuries following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Bancroft Avenue on October 1.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 85th Avenue around 9:56 PM.

Based on an initial report, the man was walking across 85th Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk with a dog prior to the crash. At the same time, a 1999 Toyota Camry was at high speed eastbound on Bancroft in a bicycle lane. Subsequently, the vehicle went out of control and hit the man and the dog.
