Man Detained, Hit-and-Run DUI Crash near Dakota Avenue in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (March 6, 2023) — Police arrested a man involved in a hit-and-run DUI accident near Dakota Avenue and Highway 168.
According to Fresno Police, the multi-car crash happened around 3:45 p.m. Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a multi-vehicle crash unfolded and involved two parked cars and two moving vehicles. Upon arriving, Fresno Police found the man at fault nowhere on site. However, witnesses informed them that the man fled to a nearby carport area, where they found the shirtless man covered in blood, indicating that he was involved in the crash.
The suspect continued to flee from police officers as he broke into homes in the neighborhood near Fountain Way. However, police eventually arrested the man and took him into custody.
The unidentified man now faces DUI and hit-and-run charges involved in the accident. Officers also took him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
