Fernando Herrera Suffers Major Injuries in Deadly Rollover Crash in Turlock

 
TURLOCK, CA (November 24, 2021) – Luis Rudolfo Mojarro was killed in a rollover accident in Turlock, early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on November 21, along the northbound lanes of Highway 99 north of West Monte Vista Avenue. Mojarro was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with his passenger, 21-year-old Fernando P. Herrera of Lodi. They were heading north on the highway when the Tahoe veered to the right for unknown reasons.
 
The sudden change of direction caused the SUV to leave the eastern road edge. It then overturned down an embankment and landed on its roof.
 
Mojarro, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car. Responding paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he later died. He was a 29-year-old Galt resident, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
 
Herrera, who was wearing a seatbelt, had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital with major injuries including multiple broken bones and a possible skull fracture.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
