US Navy Pilot Richard Bullock Dies after Fighter Jet Plane Crashes near Mojave Desert

 
TRONA, CA (June 8, 2022)Lt. Richard Bullock, a U.S. Navy pilot, died in a plane crash an unincorporated Mojave Desert community on Friday afternoon, June 3.
 
Officials said an F/A-18E Super Hornet crashed in the vicinity of Trona at around 2:30 p.m. Bullock had been flying a routine training mission when his plane went down in a remote, unpopulated area.
 
Firefighters from Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and Naval Security Forces responded to the crash site.
 
They confirmed that Bullock died in the crash.
 
Trona is about 236 miles (380 kilometers) southeast of the air station, which is in the Central Valley.
 
Nobody on the ground was hurt. This fatal crash remains under investigation.
