Lorraine Kenny Hurt, Deric Stokes Involved in Grass Valley Car Crash on Highway 49 at Lime Kiln Road

 
GRASS VALLEY, CA (July 1, 2022) — Lorraine Kenny suffered serious injuries in a car accident on Highway 49 at Lime Kiln Road.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jason Bice, the crash happened in the South County on Monday. For unknown reasons, 40-year-old Deric Stokes, of Grass Valley, failed to stop at the red traffic light while driving northbound and crashed into a second car, driven by 59-year-old Kenny.
 
As a result of the crash, Kenny suffered severe injuries, prompting paramedics to airlift her to Sutter-Roseville Medical Center. The news did not indicate if Stokes sustained any wounds.
 
At this time, CHP officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
