34-Year-Old Long Ta Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Edinger Avenue and Ward Street

 
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (September 15, 2021)Long Ta died in a pedestrian hit-and-run in Fountain Valley Saturday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on September 11, at the intersection of Edinger Avenue and Ward Street. According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, the 34-year-old victim from Santa Ana was walking in the crosswalk. A minivan traveling westbound on Edinger Avenue ran a red light at the intersection and struck him.
 
The driver of the minivan then fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Responding paramedics found the victim lying in the westbound lanes with severe injuries. They rushed him to a hospital, where he died two days later.
 
Police described the suspect vehicle as a possibly dark-colored 1991 to 1995 Dodge or Chrysler minivan. It may have sustained damage to its left front end.
 
Anyone with information on the collision was asked to call the FVPD Traffic Bureau at 714-593-4481.
