Hit-and-Run on Walnut Avenue in Cutten Leaves Woman with Broken Arm

 
CUTTEN, CA (June 15, 2022) – Lisa Harris was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Cutten on Monday morning, June 13.
 
The crash happened around 8:13 a.m. just south of Primrose Street. According to the CHP, the 62-year-old victim from McKinleyville was driving her Honda Accord northbound on Walnut Avenue and was parked at the curb.
 
When Harris began to pull into the traffic lane, a passing northbound vehicle struck the front of the Honda. After the crash, the passing vehicle failed to stop at the scene and continued traveling northbound.
 
As a result of the crash, Harris suffered a severely broken arm.
 
A passing motorist, who happened to be a nurse, stopped to help and immediately drove Harris to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
 
Harris was unable to give a definitive description of the suspect vehicle but thought it may have been a green or teal full size pickup with a camper shell. The suspect vehicle would have damage to its right-front and/or right-side.
 
Humboldt CHP is requesting assistance from the public to locate the vehicle involved in this crash and identify the driver. They asked anyone with information to contact Officer Griffin at 707-822-5981 or the Humboldt Communication Center at 707-268-2000.
