Driver Dies after Suffering Medical Emergency and Crashes into Several Parked Vehicles in Canyon Lake

 
CANYON LAKE, CA (April 18, 2021) – Authorities identified the driver who died when he suffered a medical emergency and crashed into multiple parked vehicles in Canyon Lake.
 
He was 75-year-old Leroy Jensen, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.
 
The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. Friday, April 16, on Canyon Lake Drive near Sloop Drive. Jensen was driving a vehicle eastbound at a high rate of speed when he suffered an apparent medical emergency. His vehicle then left the roadway and collided with parked vehicles and residences. The vehicle then landed on its side.
 
As a result, Jensen was trapped inside the vehicle and suffered major injuries. Firefighters freed him from the wreckage and rushed him to Inland Valley Medical Center.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Jensen did not survive and died at the hospital.
 
Another person was injured in the crash, authorities said.
 
This fatal accident remains under investigation.
