WALNUT CREEK, CA (September 14, 2021) – Paramedics transported a Las Lomas High School student to the hospital after an accident on Newell Avenue on September 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at South Broadway around 7:53 AM.
 
Based on reports, the student was skateboarding on his way to school at the time of the crash. He was in a crosswalk when a vehicle hit him.
 
As a result, the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. Paramedics said he was conscious before they transported him to a local children’s hospital for further evaluation. In addition, officials said the victim underwent a variety of tests in the ICU.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. At this point, the Walnut Creek Police Department is still investigating this accident on Newell Avenue.
