TRUCKEE, CA (August 4, 2021) – Crews closed several lanes following a big rig accident on 80 Freeway on July 29.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Donner Summit.
 
Based on reports, two jackknifed big rigs got involved in separate crashes. Subsequently, the rigs blocked the lanes on the freeway.
 
It was not clear if there were injuries sustained in the crash. However, the incident caused traffic to be at a standstill.
 
Officers said that roads are wet due to a thunderstorm in the area, but it is unclear if weather conditions contributed to the accident. At this point, the CHP is still investigating this accident on 80 Freeway.
