Passenger Lacey Duval Dies in Plumas County DUI Crash, Christopher Carlisle Arrested

 
PLUMAS COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2021) – Lacey Duval died in a DUI crash in Plumas County Tuesday morning, June 8.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:39 a.m. on Highway 70, just east of C Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Christopher Carlisle of Chico was driving a 2009 Honda Pilot eastbound with the 34-year-old victim as his passenger.
 
Carlisle was unable to negotiate a left-hand curve, causing the vehicle to leave to roadway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then went airborne and collided with a large tree at the bottom of the embankment.
 
As a result, Duval suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Carlisle sustained moderate injuries.
 
Police later found out that the vehicle belonged to Duval. They arrested Carlisle for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
