One Killed, Kevin Torres-Valencia Detained in Torrance Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident

 
TORRANCE, CA (May 12, 2022) — Kevin Torres-Valencia was arrested in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway near C. Mayor.
 
According to Torrance police, the fatal hit-and-run took place around 1:45 a.m. on Monday. For unknown reasons, a driver struck a woman crossing Pacific Coast Highway outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
As a result, the woman suffered major injuries. However, despite having received life-saving efforts, the woman died at the scene.
 
Shortly after, investigators, with the help of security camera footage and witnesses, were able to arrest 20-year-old Torres-Valencia of Wilmington at his home.
 
At this time, the crash requires further investigation. However, investigators will be looking into surveillance footage and speaking to witnesses regarding this incident.
