Kevin Atteberry Detained in Deadly DUI Crash on Sunrise Way and Palm Canyon Drive

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (August 2, 2022) — Kevin Atteberry faces charges in a fatal DUI accident on Sunrise Way and Palm Canyon Drive.
 
According to Palm Springs police officers, the fatal multi-vehicle crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Saturday. For DUI-related reasons, 57-year-old Atteberry allowed his car to hit a vehicle that stopped at an intersection. Due to the impact, several nearby cars became involved.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed the driver of the car that was first hit dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the individual’s name. They also transported a passenger in the same vehicle to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
Upon responding, officers arrested Atteberry, who they determined had a prior DUI conviction and had fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident before the fatal crash.
