Bicyclist Kenneth Hutt Dies after Crash with Two Hit-and-Run Vehicles in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (April 11, 2022)Kenneth Earl Hutt died in a bicycle hit-and-run crash in Modesto on Saturday evening, April 9.
 
The fatal crash happened on Lakewood Avenue, just between Briggsmore Avenue and Orangeburg Avenue. According to the Modesto Police Department, Hutt was riding his bicycle when he collided with two other vehicles.
 
When officers arrived, they found Hutt suffering from major injuries.
 
Paramedics provided life-saving measures, but Hutt died at the scene. He was 62-year-old Modesto resident.
 
Meanwhile, the involved drivers fled the scene and remain at large.
 
Witnesses described the involved vehicles as a red older model Toyota pickup and a white mid-2000’s Chevrolet Silverado.
 
The vehicles appear to have been traveling southbound on Lakewood Avenue when the collision occurred. Both pickups are described as turning eastbound onto Orangeburg following the collision. One or both of these vehicles could have substantial front-end damage including to the windshield.
 
At this time, officers are still investigating the crash and seeking witnesses and surveillance camera footage to identify the suspects.
