Kaulana Miller Killed, Oswaldo Garcia Arrested in DUI Accident on Irish Oaks Road [Valley Center, CA]

Coroner Identifies Valley Center’s Kaulana Miller as Fatal Victim of Multiple DUI Suspect

 
VALLEY CENTER, CA (May 25, 2021) – Kaulana Miller identified as the motorcyclist who died in a DUI crash in Valley Center Sunday last week, May 16.
 
Around 1:45 p.m., Miller was riding a motorcycle when a pickup truck made a left-hand turn in front of him from Irish Oaks Road onto Valley Center Road.
 
As a result, Miller suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he died at 6:45 p.m.
 
Miller was a 26-year-old Valley Center resident, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
 
The involved driver, 39-year-old Oswaldo Garcia, entered a not guilty plea on Monday. Along with vehicular manslaughter, he is charged with two felony counts of DUI causing injury and misdemeanor counts of being an unlicensed driver and getting behind the wheel while his driving privileges were suspended or revoked.
 
Deputies said Garcia was arrested in March 2020 and March of this year for separate DUI offenses and released from custody each time.
