Juvenile Hurt in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 13, 2022) — A juvenile suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian crash on Highway 101 near Produce Avenue on Friday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian crash took place around 7:00 p.m. After officers received reports of a group of 10 to 15 juveniles assembling on the shoulder of the southbound lanes, another call came in.

About four or five of the teens tried to cross the highway near Produce Avenue when a white Chrysler sedan struck one teen, described as a 14 or 15-year-old juvenile.

Subsequently, the driver pulled over and waited for authorities while paramedics brought the juvenile to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital with severe injuries to his leg and head.

At this time, officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs on the driver’s part. However, an ongoing investigation should clarify other details.

Standing or walking around a busy highway can be dangerous to pedestrians. Use common sense and stay where it is safe. Meandering around highways and freeways can increase the likelihood of someone hitting you.
