Juvenile Hit by Car in Accident on Jackson Street in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (October 12, 2021) – A juvenile remains in critical condition following an accident on Jackson Street on October 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Garfield Street shortly before 3:45 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, a Mercedes SUV traveling northbound on Jackson Street ran a red light at the intersection. Subsequently, it hit a Chevrolet Cruze heading westbound on Garfield. Then, one of the vehicles hit the victim who was crossing Jackson in the crosswalk. The force of the impact threw the juvenile into a Toyota Camry that was stopped at the red light.
 
As a result, the juvenile sustained critical injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the victim to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
 
At this point, the Riverside Police Department is still investigating this accident on Jackson Street.
 
Avoid distractions when driving. However, focus on the road. Slow down in intersections and give way to people who are crossing the street to prevent an accident.
