DUI Crash in Marysville Injures Two Drivers, Thomas Hinojosa Arrested

 
MARYSVILLE, CA (May 16, 2022) – Julie Lovell was injured and Thomas Hinojosa was arrested in a DUI accident in Marysville, Friday afternoon on May 13.
 
The accident happened around 4:26 p.m. on Simpson Lane, just north of Simpson Dantoni Road. Hinojosa, a 47-year-old Olivehurst resident, was driving southbound on Simpson Lane when his truck drifted into the northbound lane. He then struck another truck driven by Lovell, 30 years old from Marysville.
 
The impact caused major front-end damage on both vehicles.
 
Lovell and Hinojosa also suffered injuries from the crash. Responding paramedics transported them to Rideout Hospital for treatment.
 
Officers later determined that Hinojosa was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They took him to the Yuba County Jail for DUI charges.
 
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
