Passenger Dies after Two Vehicles Collide at Juniper and South Highland Avenues

 
FONTANA, CA (July 12, 2022) – Julie Avila Leandro was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Fontana on Friday afternoon, July 8.
 
The accident happened around 4:33 p.m. at Juniper Avenue and South Highland Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, a silver Honda Accord carrying three people was making a turn westbound on South Highland from Juniper. A black GMC pickup truck with two occupants was traveling eastbound on South Highland.
 
For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
 
As a result, Avila suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 22-year-old passenger in the Honda from Los Angeles.
 
The other two passengers in the Honda as well as the two passengers in the GMC were all transported to local hospitals with unspecified injuries.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
