Long Beach Driver Dies after Car Overturns and Catches Fire on 710 Freeway at Willow Street

 
LONG BEACH, CA (March 24, 2021) – Authorities identified the man who died in a rollover accident early Sunday morning in Long Beach.
 
The coroner’s office said 26-year-old Juan Lopez Jr. of Long Beach died at the scene.
 
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. March 21 on 710 Freeway at Willow Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Lopez was driving a vehicle that overturned and caught fire. He suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
 
No other injuries were reported. It is unknown if speed or intoxication contributed to the accident.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and factors involved.
