Juan Leyva Dies in Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 85 near De Anza Boulevard

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 26, 2021) — Juan Leyva died in a wrong-way accident on Highway 85 near De Anza Boulevard Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened around 8:12 a.m. For unknown reasons, Juan Conrado Leyva was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway.
 
After driving for nearly six miles, Leyva’s 2010 Mazda3 collided with a southbound 2011 Toyota Sienna in the fast lane. Due to the impact, the Toyota crashed into a 2011 Kia Sorento in the slow lane. Meanwhile, debris struck an oncoming 2018 Mercedes C300.
 
Following the collision, paramedics responded and pronounced 63-year-old Leyva dead at the scene. At this time, reports included no information on any other injuries involved. However, if anyone has more details on this accident, please contact the CHP.
