Juan Garcia Killed in Head-On Accident on South Santa Fe Avenue [San Marcos, CA]

56-Year-Old Driver Dies after Colliding Head-On with Another Vehicle in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 11, 2022) – Juan Jose Garcia died in a head-on accident in San Marcos Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 4:10 p.m. on January 9, in the arear of South Santa Fe Avenue and Smilax Road. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Garcia was driving a blue Scion sedan when he collided head-on with a silver Toyota minivan for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, Garcia suffered significant injuries. San Marcos Fire Department personnel rushed him to Palomar Medical Center, where he later died. He was 56 years old.
 
Meanwhile, the driver and three passengers in the minivan suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took them to Palomar Medical Center and Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment.
 
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
