Juan Cabrera Detained in Deadly DUI Crash on Gertrude Avenue at Horner Avenue

 
STOCKTON, CA (November 17, 2021) — Juan Contreras Cabrera faces charges in a fatal DUI accident on Gertrude Avenue at Horner Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car crash happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
 
For possible DUI-related reasons, 25-year-old Cabrera was speeding on Gertrude Avenue and failed to stop at the stop sign. Subsequently, his vehicle slammed into the passenger side of an SUV, splitting the vehicle into two and sending it into a nearby home.
 
Due to the force of the collision, the 84-year-old female passenger of the SUV died in the crash, while the 81-year-old driver suffered major injuries.
 
Following the accident, police arrested Cabrera, of Sacramento, after witnesses ran after him and his male passenger as they tried to flee.
At this time, Cabrera faces charges of felony hit-and-run, DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter while impaired and more.
