Jovana Sanchez Dies in Cottonwood DUI Accident

COTTONWOOD, CA (April 2, 2021) — Jovana Sanchez died in a suspected DUI accident on River View Drive near Lake California Drive Tuesday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal solo-car accident happened sometime in the evening. For possible DUI-related reasons, the 27-year-old crashed her 2016 Mazda into a tree.

Per reports, Sanchez, of Cottonwood, was driving north on River View Drive and veered off the road before the impact. During the investigation, police learned that she had neglected to use a seatbelt at the time.
