Passenger Dies after DUI Driver Crashes into Steel Pole in Palm Springs, Joshua Woods Arrested

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (April 19, 2021) – Joshua Woods was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter after a fatal DUI crash in Palm Springs early Monday morning, April 19.
 
The crash happened around 1:20 a.m. on Indian Canyon Drive near Garnet Avenue. According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the 30-year-old suspect from Desert Hot Springs was driving a vehicle when he crashed into a concrete sign and a steel pole.
 
The car then bounced back onto the street, killing the female passenger. The victim was not immediately identified.
 
Police arrested Woods and booked him into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI causing great bodily injury.
 
It is unclear if Woods suffered any injuries in the crash.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
