Joshua Kunkle Dies in Crash on 10 Freeway in Whitewater

WHITEWATER, CA (May 4, 2021) – Police identified Joshua Kunkle as the victim who died in a rollover crash on 10 Freeway on May 1.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Highway 62 around 4:00 AM.

Based on a report, emergency crews located the victim’s vehicle on its roof about 30 feet down an embankment on the right side of the freeway. Adding to that, they did not find any vehicles at the scene. However, the details that led to the crash were not immediately available.

As a result, firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department said the victim died at the scene. An officer with the Riverside County Coroner’s office identified him as 37-year-old Joshua Kunkle, a La Quinta resident.

At this point, an investigation into the case is still ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
